Old Mountain Farm Shortbred

Shortbred AKA Shorty is one of a wonderful litter of triplet does. They were all equally gorgeous and I initially (of course) wanted to keep them all for myself but reality always eventually sets in. My final choice of “the one” I would keep from this litter was Shorty. I was drawn to her, as much as I hate to admit it, because of her color. My favorite is a gold goat with no white or minimal white. Of course it does not hurt that she has a giant darker gold spot on her. Not quite sure if it would be called a moon spot. Shorty pulled at my heartstrings and drew special attention from me because she reminded me so much of one of my most special goats of the past; “1*M AR Old Mountain Farm McDermott *D'VG'AR1839”. McDermott in fact is Shorty’s great, great, great grand dam! Not only does she look like “Derm” but she also has Derm’s personality. Shorty is a doeling that I would describe as dripping with dairy character. She is very deep in the body and stands on strong feet and legs with very flat bone, She has a lovely topline with sharp withers, tightly lain in shoulders, level chine and loin, wide, and a long, rump showing correctness of slope. She has nice rear leg angulation and a strong brisket with a lean neck and a feminine head.
