Stonewall's Mountain Splash

We lost "Splashy" February 2005 due to a difficult kidding.
That day was the saddest day of our entire goat
adventure. Splashy was a unique and beautiful
creature that will always be missed here at Old
Mountain Farm. Out of all of the goats that have leaped
and pranced their way through our lives Splashy
was always "the special one". Not only was she beautiful and
well bred BUT she was funny and intelligent beyond her
goat years. She was small, but long bodied, with the correct
slope of rump
. She had nice angularity to the rear legs
when viewed from the side and very straight legs when
viewed from the rear. She had an overall wonderful
mammary system. Her udder was incredibly pliable and
collapsible with a very good medial attachment and
terrific side and rear attachments. Though her fore
udder was not as far extended as I would like to see. She
also had large, plumb easy expressing teats.
I most often chose to let Splashy stay at home rather
than have to deal with the stress of traveling to shows
because of a soft tissue injury she sustained as a young
junior, to her front legs that caused her chronic pain
throughout her life. I had noticed that her main fault
seemed to be that she was loose at the point of elbow,
which was made worse as a result of her injury. Her HES
scores would also have been higher each year if it
weren't for the leg injury.
